Painting in Eli's atelier

Ígjøgnum sjey ár hevur Eli ment seg dúgliga innan ein serligan málningastíl við føroyskum náttúrutilfari. Inspireraður av m.a. egyptiskum kongamálningum og sponskum holumálningum brúkar hann tilfar, t.e. ymisk grótsløg, kol og skeljar, verður mjølnað við mortara og eini fornari kaffimaskinu (harafturat sandur); hetta verður síðani, eftir stórt umhugsni, stroytt út yvir træplátur í ymsum støddum, ið eru smurdar við akrylbindara. Tað er ein long praktisk tilgongd, frá at vinna tilfari úti í náttúruni til at tann lidni málningurin hongur í stovuni: lesið meira um arbeiðstilgongdina gjøgnum leinkjuna.

Afturat "primitivismuni" arbeðir Eli við tekning og vatnlitsmyndum við síðuna av, har síðstnevnda grein nøktar hansara tørv á teimum sterku litunum, sum nýggi "litskalain" ikki fevnir um; hann hevur eisini myndprýtt bøkur og frímerkir.
Í løtuni sýnir Eli fram sínar grótmálningar í Smiðjuni í Lítluvík.

Spógvi, Faroese bird

During the seven past years Eli has developed his own "paint" out of the faroese nature. Inspired by egyptian royal paintings and spanish cave painting he uses paint-ingredients such as rock, coal and shells; he powderizes the material with a morter and an ancient coffee machine (sand is also used); the material is gluved to treeplates of different sizes. It is a long practical process, from digging the material to the finished painting in the living room.

Besides Eli does also work with aquarels and sketching, and the water colours give Eli the bright coloured scale that he misses in the nature-based scale; he has illustrated a couple of books and stamps. This year the Eli accomplished his big decoration project in the school of Runavík.
